Privacy policy
Famount is a family expense tracker made by Akhil Joy (kidb.in). This page explains what the app stores and why. Last updated 14 October 2026.
What we store
- Family and member details: the family name, a short family ID, each member's display name, sign-in name and a hashed password or PIN. We never see the password itself.
- Money records you type in: expenses, income, fixed costs, planned costs, shopping list items, categories and any pictures you attach to categories.
- Sharing choices: which family members you allow to see your personal spending.
- Technical data: a sign-in token for the app, and standard web server logs (IP address, time, requested page) kept for a short period for security.
What we do not do
- No advertising, no trackers, no analytics SDKs.
- No selling or sharing of your data with anyone outside your family.
- No access to your bank, UPI or card accounts. Everything is entered by hand.
- No location, contacts or photo library access, except the single picture you choose for a category icon.
Who can see what
Family expenses, income, fixed costs, plans and the shopping list are visible to everyone in your family. Personal expenses and personal income are visible only to you, unless you choose to share them with a specific family member. Data lives on our server in a database that only the application can read.
Face ID and fingerprint
If you turn on biometric unlock, the check happens entirely on your phone through the operating system. No biometric data is sent to us.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account from inside the app (Account, then Delete my account) or from the website. Deleting a member removes their personal records at once. When the last member of a family deletes their account, the whole family and all its records are deleted. You can also email us at hello@kidb.in and we will delete it for you within 7 days. Children
The app is designed so that children can log pocket-money spending inside a family set up by an adult. Children cannot create a family on their own, and we collect nothing from them beyond the name and records the family enters.
